P.2084 - §5 "In winning souls for the Master, it is not the first mile of compulsion, duty, or convention that will transform man and his world, but rather the second mile of free service and liberty-loving devotion that betokens the Jesusonian reaching forth to grasp his brother in love and sweep him on under spiritual guidance toward the higher and divine goal of mortal existence. Christianity even now willingly goes the first mile, but mankind languishes and stumbles along in moral darkness because there are so few genuine second-milers--so few professed followers of Jesus who really live and love as he taught his disciples to live and love and serve."

We all met in Stockholm Sweden where we had a very full house in Anna and Mike's small apartment. After some days in Stockholm we took a train to the countryside near a small town called Bodafors where Anna's parents live. We spent two nights there, and they spoiled us with lots of home cooked food and a beautiful area to explore.

Roll your mouse over the pictures below for a brief comment and description.

Day and Shane checking out the view as we arrive in Helsinki.
Arranging our luggage on the boat to Tallinn Estonia. We had lots of Urantia books with us to be placed in libraries in The Baltic States.
Matti and his brother were able to take us on a trip around Helsinki on their family boat. It was such a beautiful trip!
We met with Al, a Lithuanian reader friend, on Aug 21 (Jesus birthday according to the Urantia Book) on the "Hill of Three Crosses" overlooking Vilnius to watch the sunset and take some time to give thanks. You can see the old communist built TV tower in the background. Shane, Al, Mike and Erica.
All of us who were visiting Helsinki stayed at three various locations. On the last day all of us, and all of our Finnish hosts had a study group.
Mike, Day and Stelios taking advantage of the all you can eat breakfast buffet as they enjoy the serene beauty of the many islands we pass as we approach Helsinki Finland.
Helen, who was our host during our stay in Tallinn, preparing a treat. She made sure we got to enjoy most traditional Estonian recopies.

Stelios, Shane, Day and Mike (and Gavin who took the picture) reading a paper together on the boat to Estonia.
Helen's beautiful, (and amazingly well behaved) children.
Awe inspiring sunset.
Another large ferry bound for Finland follows closely behind us winding between the many islands archipelago.
Jacob enjoying the breathtaking view of Stockholm as the large ferry we are on (ten passenger levels) leaves Sweden bound for Helsinki Finland. Stockholm, nicknamed "beauty on water" is built on many islands and there are many green areas preserved in the city.
Saying goodbye after meeting with many of the regular attendants of the Vilnius study group. We got to get to know them all a bit, such interesting and loving people!
Daniel, Jacob and Shane at the Gothenburg airport about to board our very early morning flight to Paris.
Shane and Sara - we met Sara on the flight to Paris and then met with her later on in Sweden. She is soon to complete an education to become a priest in the Church of Sweden. We had many uplifting and interesting conversations together and enjoyed getting to know her.
Jacob taking a nap on the boat from Finland to Estonia.
Stelios
Exploring the medieval city of Tallinn. Helen used to be a tour guide so she knew all the best sights.
Some of our hosts in Finland, Seppo Kanerva and Seppo Niskanen enjoying the sunset.
Gavin, Al and Mike.

Jacob, Kristina and Stelios at the conference in Viitna. This was Kristinas first conference and she was very glad to get to meet so many other young readers. (and we were also thrilled to meet her and the other young readers who were there!)
We visited Gothenburg and stayed at the beautiful home of Steve Sycamore, which is in the forest near Gothenburg and right next to a beautiful lake. It was the perfect place for us to rest and for area readers to come and visit with us before we flew to Paris. Here we are reading a paper together on Steve's lawn.
Some really interesting guys we met in the park in Riga. They had just gotten back to Latvia after a several month long windsurfing trip in Spain.
We managed to get almost all of the 'younger generations' together for a group photo, people who had come from all over the planet for this wonderful conference.

Erica and Mike walking down a road in Vilnius we walked every day to go to our hostel. This was during our last walk on this road during the trip, heading towards the bus station where Mike had to say goodbye to the rest of the group who continued travelling together on to Warsaw, Poland.
Karen MacIsaac, Daniel Swadling, Markus Eriksson (Anna's brother) and Anna Eriksson
Seppo on his balcony. What a view!
Stelios, Jacob, Gavin, Day and Shane in the little cabin they will share on the overnight trip to Finland.
Greg MacIsaac and his two sons Mike and Ian
Some of the teenagers who enjoyed hanging out together at the conference near Paris
Shane and Stelios on a commuter train in Stockholm.

P.1223 - §3 "Uncertainty with security is the essence of the Paradise adventure-uncertainty in time and in mind, uncertainty as to the events of the unfolding Paradise ascent; security in spirit and in eternity, security in the unqualified trust of the creature son in the divine compassion and infinite love of the Universal Father; uncertainty as an inexperienced citizen of the universe; security as an ascending son in the universe mansions of an all-powerful, all-wise, and all-loving Father."
